Armenia's higher education quality is assured by the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance (ANQA). Armenia has approximately 65 higher education institutions, including Yerevan State University (founded 1919) and the American University of Armenia (AUA). Armenia joined the Bologna Process in 2005 and has been reforming its higher education system.
